In the early 70s Morre Sunshine started a retail fabric shop called Rathdowne Remnants at H. Sunshine & Sons in Rathdowne street Carlton. With a huge variety of fabrics purchased from all over Australia, there has always been a bargain to be found at this unique fabric store.
After a few location changes, the shop now trades as Rathdowne Fabrics and Remnants at 154-158 Victoria Street, Brunswick (near corner of Lygon St). It is still owned and run by the Sunshine family.
The excellent service from experienced staff has kept loyal customers coming back year after year searching for new fabrics not found elsewhere and at incredible prices. From dress fabrics, cottons, knits, wovens, evening and bridal, furnishing fabrics and accessories, haberdashery, patterns and of course the famous remnant bins, there is always something for the home sewer, home decorator, fashion student or DIY enthusiast!
