Thurlow Fisher Lawyers now consists of three of Bankstown law firms, which together represent over 150 years of experience and accredited specialisation in personal injury. Thurlow Fisher Lawyers The firm stems from DK Thurlow, established in 1947, and John Fisher became articled to David Thurlow in 1951. After working with Pigott Stinson Lawyers, John Fisher returned as partner in 1959 and the firm became known as Thurlow Fisher. Having been partner since 1985, Matthew Fisher became sole proprietor of the firm with John Fisher’s retirement from partnership of the firm in 2003.
In 2005 the firm became an incorporated practice trading under the name of Thurlow Fisher Lawyers and Consultants Pty. Limited although the firm is always known as Thurlow Fisher or Thurlow Fisher Lawyers. Thomson Bentley & Partners In September 2011, accredited personal injury specialist John Mallet and experienced property lawyer David Bentley merged the Thomson Bentley & Partners with Thurlow Fisher. The firm’s lawyers have worked in Bankstown in personal injury, property transactions and family estates for over 40 years.
Olliffe & Co In the early 1950s, Mr Arch Olliffe commenced his own practice in Fetherstone Street Bankstown, (in a building on the site next to the present Bankstown Library). His daughter, Bronwyn Olliffe joined the firm in 1979, remaining with the firm until 1983 when son Timothy joined the firm. Following Arch Olliffe’s retirement in 1993, Tim continued the practice until 2007 when it was incorporated into Thurlow Fisher Lawyers & Consultants Pty Ltd. Tim Olliffe continues working as a senior solicitor with Thurlow Fisher carrying on the family’s long association with the law in Bankstown.
