The practice had its beginnings in April, 1979 in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia. From small beginnings 34 years ago the practice has grown into one of the larger law firms in North Queensland with offices in Atherton and Cairns. These were recently separated amicably and today the independent firms of Bottoms English Lawyers Pty Ltd (Cairns) and Atherton Tablelands Law (Atherton) continue to act for each other as town agents. Bottoms English Lawyers Pty Ltd currently comprise four solicitors, two law clerks, and a support staff of nine. Our impressive growth over the decades results from offering a very "personal service" to our clients, which also resulted in a very high referral rate from current and previous clients and has provided a sound basis for business growth.
This philosophy has assisted us to develop into a successful commercial and litigation practice. We are small enough to know all our clients, and large enough with the depth to handle any client problems. Cairns is now the international gateway to Northern Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. Such rapid expansion in the city in which the practice is based has resulted in a parallel growth in both domestic and foreign investment in Cairns.
Bottoms English Lawyers are proud to offer the services of the regions first and only Mandarin-speaking solicitor to engage Cairns primary offshore market in tourism, investment, migration and any other legal matters. We are able to assist our foreign clients doing business in Australia in setting up, acquiring or investing in the Tropical North Queensland market.
