Caribou Publications is an event management, media services and publishing company, founded by John Craven in 1980 and is Australias leading cycling event promoters, employing up to 150 full and part-time personnel. Craven, the managing director, is a former Melbourne Herald journalist with wide experience in Australia and overseas. Books published by Caribou include the autobiographies of Raelene Boyle, Roy Higgins, Leigh Matthews, Robert Flower, Max Rowley and Wayne Johnston, plus others.
Cravens autobiography of horse racing commentator John Russell was published in 2009. Tasmanian Summer Sports Carnivals Caribou Publications P/L organised and promoted the Herald Sun Tour for 16 Years and the Great Otway Classic, also for 16 years.
The company also organised and promoted the Australian National Championships, and the National Road Cycling Series for a total of 12 years. And more recently, 9 years from inaugration, The Great Ocean Road Marathon Festival of Distance running.
