Description

Greg has developed a niche within the Sunshine Coast region of specialisation in the treatment of depressive disorders in men. These disorders are often in the context of early attachment difficulties, including abusive childhood experiences, and current interpersonal problems in relationships, work and social functioning. Men are often hesitant in seeking help, sometimes perceiving this as a failing, however, through building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship these initial fears can be overcome. Greg also works with adults with anxiety disorders, other mood disorders, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, life stages and role changes and interpersonal difficulties.
He uses the therapeutic approach of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Narrative Therapy. He is also able to offer these Clinical Psychologist services through Medicare Rebates, Health Fund rebates and WorkCover referrals. Louise specialises in the treatment of adults with depressive and anxiety disorders (excessive worry, panic, fear, social phobia) and other mood disorders; adjustment disorders; interpersonal difficulties including relationship problems; grief and loss; life transitions; problems associated with meaning in life and feelings of unhappiness (dysphoria).
My therapeutic approach predominantly utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Louise complements her private practice through sharing her training and knowledge as an academic tutor for postgraduate Clinical Doctorate and Psychology Masters students at QUT Kelvin Grove in Psychopathology and Psychodynamic Therapy. She has also recently facilitated Psychodynamic Psychotherapy groups at QUT as part of their “Worry Study” program of research for Generalised Anxiety Disorder.
