Description
Glenelg Libraries aims to develop inclusive, positive, learning communities through open access to ideas, information, knowledge and technology, and participation in networks and activities across the Glenelg Shire. The area served by the Glenelg Council is located in the far south-western part of Victoria, approximately 370 kilometres from the nearest capital city — Melbourne. Branch libraries are located at Portland, Casterton and Heywood with Outreach locations at Nelson, Merino, Digby, and Dartmoor. Glenelg Libraries provide library collections of around 35000 items and comprise books, magazines, videos, CD’s, cassettes, newspapers, CD-Rom, and E-books. Printing, online databases and other various software programs are also available, as well as basic Internet and IT training. Other services include school holiday programs, story-times, art exhibitions, and a book chat group.
