Description
Golden Drop Winery is a family owned and operated business of Charles Nastasi and wife Lucy, together with their sons, Sam and wife Jackie, Dino and wife Maria, daughter Grace, and sister Lena.
Charles vision was to service the boutique sector of the wine market, and with tourism on the rise in Tropical North Queensland, he also saw an opportunity to value-add to this industry and contribute towards the visitor experience of the region by making the winery a tourist attraction in its own right. Having finally successfully mastering the technique of making wine from mangoes, Golden Drop Winery successfully launched their first commercial wines - a Dry, a Medium, and a Sweet wine – in early 1999. At that time the winery was the first commercial Mango Winery in the world.
Locals and tourists from all over the world now visit the Winery every day for the unique experience of visiting a working mango plantation, and to sample our lovely refreshing tropical Mango Wines, together with Citrus Cellos, Mango Port, and Golden Mango liqueur style wine. "Our aims were to produce a commercially viable wine from mangoes, and to develop a unique 100% solely owned and operated Australian tourism attraction – we have succeeded!!", Charles Nastasi stated. Our uniqueness and location is also reflected in the colours of our packaging - selected specifically to reflect the colours of the Australian outback and the North Australian savannah.
Our product is 100% Australian and we are justifiably proud that it is a product that we have pioneered, and that we produce from our very own Australian Kensington Red Mangoes.
