From humble beginnings stands a company proud of its achievements and in particular its loyal staff and customers. Without whom there would be no point - Highways have trained some 20 plus apprentices along with apprentices from coal mine workshops so as to provide advanced training not otherwise available at the time. Times change and so does Highways at a period in time when cars were not air-conditioned we repaired generators, alternators, starter motors and voltage regulators along with re-wiring and rewinding alternator stators, generator armatures and field coils; it was an era preceding throwaway and our job was to repair because it was the practical thing to do.
That was the perfect way to learn how to repair motor vehicles from end to end and top to bottom, the focus was always on developing the skills along with pride in our work and therefore pride in ourselves. These work ethics have been handed down to subsequent generations who learnt their craft at Highway Auto Electrics ironically we have in fact trained most of our competitors in the Rockhampton, Blackwater, Emerald, Yeppoon, Central Queensland area and throughout Australia.
Unlike the Rolling Stones who remain pretty much the same group as when they started out, just older! We at Highways retain but a few of the original cast, however the younger people coming through have learnt their trade from the masters along the way, thus making up a team of dedicated artisans ready and willing to serve you our valued customer.
