Working alongside the Girrawaa Arts Centre at the Bathurst Correctional Centre, By Indigenous helps to share Indigenous art with Australia and the world. Handcrafted by inmates using traditional techniques, each of the boomerangs, coasters and bullroarers stocked is the product of a program helping to give inmates the skills and experience to enjoy meaningful and creative employment once they are released.
Decorated with traditional motifs, vivid colours and the stories of the Dreamtime, each piece stocked at By Indigenous is unique, authentic and a true work of art. All sales help to fund the Girrawaa Arts Centre’s operations, ensuring that more inmates get the help, support and experience to thrive once their sentence is complete.
