Description

MAADAZ Dance Studio is based on the belief that our students needs, enjoyment and safety are of the utmost importance. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We offer many styles of dance for enjoyment and fitness, however are committed to excellence through gentle teaching practices, which gives the students confidence in their ability and enhances their enjoyment of dance. Whether you are learning dance for fun or plan to make it your career, we will help you reach your goal. Director and Teacher: MICHELLE MCLEAN Michelle started dancing at the age of nine in a school hall with a teacher called Sue Himming. Sue helped bring out the love of dance in Michelle that lead her to have a wonderful career as a dancer in Cabaret/ Latin American dinner shows around the world. She went on to study at the National Theatre ballet school in Prahran for three years and at (Channel Nines Choreographer) -Tony Bartuccio’s Dance and Drama school, before heading to Japan with a troupe to dance at the Presidents Hotel for six months. From there she spent the next few years travelling with the troupe doing six month stints at the Hilton and Holiday Inn Hotels in Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Germany before heading to England to study as a Teacher of Dance at The Merseyside Dance and Drama School. On completion of this two year course She joined another troupe travelling with them for 18 mths to Japan, Singapore, and Bangkok. On returning to Australia Michelle worked at the Swagman Restaurant in Ferntree Gully until it burnt down. Michelle then took the chance to get married and start a family. Although she didnt teach or dance in a profesional way, she continued to do dance classes at home while her children were young. Now they are older, she felt it was time to get back to her dream of teaching dance and opening a world of entertainment and fantasy to all her students, and to pass on her love of dance.
