Established in 1974, MEC (which stands for European Common Market in Italian) initially endeavoured to satisfy the demand for machines and plants for meat products (salami, ham, mortadella, prosciutto etc.) by introducing European technology into Australia. After nearly 40 years in the Australasian market, today MEC not only supplies equipment to the meat, smallgoods and poultry industries, but also to the bakery, pastry, pizza, icecream and catering, vegetables/fruit, and the fresh, dry and frozen pasta industries. MEC also supplies packaging and vacuum packaging systems for food and other products, as well as a range of spices, essences and other accessories for food production. MEC caters for both small and large businesses, with expertise in design, consultation and turn-key ventures, as well as sales and service of all new, secondhand and reconditioned machines.
Over the years, MEC has built up a wide range of well-known and respected clients throughout Australia in a number of sectors. These include large industrial manufacturers and international customers, as well as small local businesses. We will be happy to provide references on request.
