Description

Metaglo WA is a Western Australian provider of electro-polishing and passivation for steel, brass and other copper alloys. The company was incorporated in 1989, and offers a wide variety of metal treatments, including:
• Weld Treatments, Pickling and Passivation (according to ASTM A380)
• Pre-cleaning & Descaling
• Surface Restoration
• Removal of Rust & Tea staining
• Hydrogen Removal

Metaglo WA is based in Mayaree, Western Australia, and provides electo-polishing services for steel, brass and other copper alloys. The Metaglo process provides the most uniform, lustrous results. The process removes heat weld discolouration, oxide scale and reactive or corrosive contaminants.
Electro-polishing has advantages over the traditional means of finishing alloys, in that it avoids the use of hazardous chemicals such as hydrofluoric and nitric acids or heated caustic. Much contemporary environmental and health regulation forbids the use of these procedures, so Metaglo electro-polishing is an excellent way of complying with environmental law. Furthermore, Metaglo electro-polishing furthermore accomplishes surface refinement, deburring and brightness simultaneously.
Metaglo provides extensive service to the mining, petroleum, oil and gas industries, extending greatly the life of the vast quantities of stainless steel componentry in use in those industries. The rate of metal removal can be finely controlled, allowing close tolerances to be observed.
The steels used in marine applications need to be highly passivated if acceptable lifetimes are to be achieved. The Metaglo process is the most effective method of passivating and protecting the Chromium Oxide layer of marine stainless steel.
Traditional surface finishing techniques have proved inadequate in protecting steels used in medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and food preparation applications from colonisation by anaerobic bacteria such as staphylococcus. The Metaglo electro-polishing process removes the hyd
