Description
Established in 1993, The Tea Centre has since remained dedicated to offering the best quality teas sourced from the finest tea gardens the world over. From our beginnings as a little tea store in Paddington, Sydney we have remained Australian owned and operated as we have grown to twelve stores across the east coast of Australia and The Tea Centre in Sydney CBD (https://www.theteacentre.com.au/stores/the-tea-centre-sydney/) is one of those popular location. As one of the first specialist retailers in Australia to reinvigorate the trend towards the tea leaf; this has been an ongoing labour of love by owners Joakim and Kerry Torstensson and Sharon Sansom. Our leaves stem from reputable tea-growing regions across Asia, Africa, and even Australia. Imported teas are quality tested against the highest European standards ensuring minimum residue levels. Quite uniquely, our teas are then air-freighted into Australia every 6-8 weeks, setting us apart from most tea retailers whose product may sit at sea for months during shipping. While a speedy transit keeps the flavours intact, natural flavourings in our blended teas also help. Chemically produced, artificial flavours tend to dissipate quickly so our flavoured blends contain only real ingredients like dried fruits, flowers, herbs, spices, and essential oils to create a truly tasty infusion. Where possible, we have also endeavoured to stock a selection of organic and ethical teas. Overall, The Tea Centre’s library of teas is constantly progressing as we continue to keep an eye on tea trends and traditions alike.
