Warrah provides individualised disability services based on the principles of Curative Education and Social Therapy developed by Rudolf Steiner. Central to Warrahs philosophy is adherence to ideals of mutual respect and service, and responsiveness to the changing needs of each individual. Clients individual programs are developed in consultation with the clients, their families or advocates, appropriate medical and other professionals, and Warrah staff. The great strength of the Steiner approach is the emphasis on the awareness of each persons humanity.
This in turn leads to an appropriate response to each individual€s changing needs. We encourage the formation of friendships rather than having people simply sharing a house under the supervision of a carer. Warrahs mission is to provide individual support for people with an intellectual disability based on their aspirations and support needs according to the principles of Dr Rudolf Steiner and the legislative requirements of the New South Wales Disability Services Act (1993).
Warrahs vision is to build a range of services to meet individual choice and need; to provide a safe and happy living, learning and working environment; and to be a provider of high quality services. Warrahs guiding values are respect for all individuals; encouragement of individual development; honesty and integrity; and quality service provision.
